ON 30th MARCH THE ASSOCIATION RECEIVED A VISIT FROM THE AMBASSADOR OF AUSTRALIA TO SPAIN
We are absolutely delighted that the Australian Ambassador to Spain was so kind as to make room in her very tight schedule to come and visit our “Firefighting Donkeys” in Doñana. The visit of such an esteemed visitor has made all of us here at The Happy Donkey Association feel very proud and highly honoured.
During her visit, Ambassador Virginia Greville found out more about the work our donkeys do, and visited the installations of Doñarrayan Park where some of our animals were busy clearing fire-sensitive areas. Among them was the Association’s most adorable donkey, little ANZAC.
The Ambassador was especially charming and proved to be warm and approachable, as well as very dignified in her responsibility as diplomatic representative of her country.
We were also very pleased to welcome Ms. Rocio de la Torre as representative of the Provincial Government of Huelva.
Both chatted amiably about the history of Private Simpson and his donkey during the First World War.
We are very grateful to Ambassador Greville and Deputy De La Torre for their visit and interest in the work carried out by our Association.
Now we all love Australia even more!
